The new Utsav Bhawan will be built in Khajurhat village with a budget of ₹1 crore 41 lakh. It will serve as a dedicated venue for weddings, cultural events, and other auspicious ceremonies, while also providing additional amenities for villagers.

The state government has planned the construction of 71 Utsav Bhawans across Uttar Pradesh, and Khajurhat Gram Panchayat in the Bikapur Assembly constituency has been selected as one of the locations.

Land Selected and Monitoring Committee Formed

The land selection process for the project has already been completed. To oversee the implementation of the project, a six-member monitoring committee has been formed under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Nikhil T. Funde.

The committee includes the Chief Development Officer, Additional District Magistrate, District Panchayat Raj Officer, Executive Engineer of the Public Works Department, and Executive Engineer of the Electricity Corporation.

The building will be constructed on government land (Gata numbers 647 and 648) located about 100 meters east of the Ayodhya–Prayagraj Highway in Khajurhat.

Two-Storey Air-Conditioned Building

The two-storey Utsav Bhawan will be built across approximately 14 bighas of land and will be fully air-conditioned.

  • The first floor will have four halls, each with a capacity of 100 people, along with additional rooms.
  • The ground floor will feature one large hall for major events.

The project plan also includes several essential facilities such as:

  • Separate men’s and women’s toilets
  • Accessible toilets for persons with disabilities
  • Boundary wall
  • Air-conditioned halls
  • Electricity and water supply
  • Generator backup
  • Parking area

The building itself will cover 522 square meters, and a mandap area will also be constructed. The remaining land will be reserved for other arrangements and future development.

Construction and Management by Gram Panchayat

The construction and management of the Utsav Bhawan will be handled by the Gram Panchayat. For this purpose, a separate bank account has been opened jointly in the name of the village head and the Panchayat secretary.

Panchayat Secretary Narendra Verma said that the first installment of ₹70 lakh will soon be transferred to the Panchayat’s account, and land leveling work has already begun.

Local Leaders Welcome the Project

Village head Shakuntala Soni expressed gratitude to the state government for selecting their Gram Panchayat for the project. Authorities have instructed that the construction be completed within three months.

Block Development Officer Akhilesh Mishra said the project is a major development boost for the block, and the construction will be carried out with full transparency and priority.
