Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh: The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has announced that the flag hoisting ceremony (Dharma Dhwaja Arohan) at the Sheshavatar Temple, the seventh and final auxiliary temple within the Ram Janmabhoomi complex, will be held on June 23, 2026. The grand event is expected to witness the participation of nearly 1,000 invited guests, including Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Ministers Brajesh Pathak and Keshav Prasad Maurya.
Final Auxiliary Temple in Ram Janmabhoomi Complex to Receive Sacred Flag
With the completion of flag hoisting ceremonies at six auxiliary temples located within the Parikrama (Parikota) area of the Ram Janmabhoomi complex, only the Sheshavatar Temple remains.
The temple is situated outside the Parikota, behind the Ram Temple in the south-western direction, and will be the final temple in the complex to receive the ceremonial Dharma Dhwaja.
According to the Trust, the detailed format of the event is currently being finalized, and discussions among Trust officials are underway to determine the complete schedule and guest list.
Deputy Chief Ministers Invited to Attend Ceremony
The Trust has already extended invitations to:
- Brajesh Pathak, Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh
- Keshav Prasad Maurya, Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh
Initially, there were plans to invite only Keshav Prasad Maurya, but later the Trust decided to invite both Deputy Chief Ministers for the significant religious event.
Invitations to other distinguished guests will be sent after the finalization of the event plan.
Series of Flag Hoisting Ceremonies Nearing Completion
The Trust had earlier decided to organize separate flag hoisting ceremonies for each auxiliary temple on different dates with different guests to make every event memorable.
The sequence began on December 31, 2025, when Defence Minister Rajnath Singh hoisted the sacred flag at the Annapurna Temple during the second anniversary celebrations of the Ram Temple consecration.
Subsequent ceremonies were held at:
- Surya Temple – March 26
- Hanuman Temple – April 2
- Ganesh Temple – April 11
- Shiva Temple – April 29
- Durga Temple – May 29
The flag hoisting ceremony at the Shiva Temple was performed by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who was considered the most appropriate choice due to his position as the head of the Goraksha Peeth of the Nath tradition.
Ceremony to Be Held After 5 PM on June 23
According to Trust officials, the ceremony at the Sheshavatar Temple will be conducted with full religious grandeur.
The event is scheduled to begin after 5:00 PM on June 23 in front of the Sheshavatar Temple.
Since the Saptarishi Temples are located nearby, darshan arrangements in that area may be temporarily regulated during the event to ensure smooth conduct of the ceremony.
Trust Plans Grand Participation
The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust is considering inviting around 1,000 guests to witness the historic occasion.
Officials are currently finalizing the list of invitees and the overall structure of the event.
According to Ram Temple Manager Gopal Rao, the Trust will soon finalize all arrangements and release further details regarding the ceremony.
Important Milestone for Ram Janmabhoomi Complex
The flag hoisting ceremony at the Sheshavatar Temple will mark the completion of the Dharma Dhwaja installation process across all seven auxiliary temples within the Ram Janmabhoomi complex.
The event represents another important milestone in the ongoing development of the Ram Temple campus, which continues to attract millions of devotees and visitors from across India and around the world.
