Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh: In a significant step toward clean energy adoption and sustainable temple operations, the Sita Rasoi located inside the Ram Temple complex in Ayodhya has been connected to a PNG (Piped Natural Gas) network. With this transition, Ram Lalla’s bhog prasad will now be prepared using natural gas instead of LPG cylinders.
The initiative was implemented by Green Gas Limited, marking a move toward more efficient and environmentally friendly cooking practices at the Ram Mandir premises.
Ram Temple Kitchen Shifts from LPG to PNG Supply
On Saturday, Green Gas Limited officially connected the Sita Rasoi in the Ram Temple complex to the PNG network and inaugurated the service.
The launch ceremony was attended by:
- Girija Shankar, Managing Director of Green Gas Limited
- Raj Kishore Behera, Commercial Director
- Gopal Rao, VHP official associated with temple administration
The inauguration included a traditional puja ceremony for the PNG-based cooking system before beginning operations.
Ram Lalla’s Bhog Prasad to Be Prepared with Natural Gas
Following the PNG connection, the Sita Rasoi will no longer require regular LPG cylinder supplies for preparing offerings and meals associated with temple rituals.
Officials stated that the kitchen previously consumed around 15–20 LPG cylinders every month. With the new arrangement, continuous PNG supply will ensure uninterrupted preparation of bhog prasad for Ram Lalla.
The shift is expected to improve:
- Operational efficiency
- Fuel availability
- Safety and convenience
- Environmental sustainability
Green Energy Initiative Supports Sustainable Temple Infrastructure
The adoption of Piped Natural Gas at Ayodhya’s Ram Temple complex aligns with broader efforts to introduce modern and eco-friendly infrastructure at religious and public institutions.
PNG is considered a cleaner alternative to LPG because it:
- Produces lower carbon emissions
- Offers continuous gas supply
- Reduces dependence on cylinder transportation and storage
- Improves long-term energy efficiency
Engineers from L&T and Tata Consultancy Supported the Project
Representatives from Green Gas Limited thanked engineers from L&T (Larsen & Toubro) and Tata Consultancy for their support in establishing the gas network infrastructure at the temple complex.
Several temple-associated officials, including Jagannath, Jitendra Dwivedi, Deepak Kumar, and Himanshu Pandey, were also present during the inauguration ceremony.
Modern Infrastructure Enhancing Ayodhya’s Ram Temple Operations
The connection of PNG services to Sita Rasoi in Ayodhya reflects the ongoing modernization of facilities surrounding the Ram Temple, while preserving traditional religious practices.
As Ayodhya continues to develop into a major spiritual and tourism destination, such infrastructure improvements are expected to support efficient temple operations and sustainable growth.
