Ranveer Singh–starrer Dhurandhar continues to create a strong global impact. Recently, a real-life close associate of former Pakistani gangster Rahman Daku publicly praised the film and thanked Bollywood for telling a story that, according to him, Pakistan failed to present.

With Dhurandhar, the name of Pakistani gangster Rahman Daku has once again come into the spotlight. In the film, actor Akshaye Khanna delivers a powerful performance as Rahman Daku, earning widespread appreciation for portraying the character with remarkable depth and intensity.

Now, the film has received an unexpected endorsement from Rahman Daku’s real-life close friend, who has openly praised Dhurandhar and applauded the Indian film industry for its bold storytelling.

Rahman Daku’s Friend Calls Dhurandhar Impressive

A video that has gone viral on social media shows Habib Jan Baloch, a close friend of Rahman Daku, praising Dhurandhar. Habib is a professional lawyer and a nationalist Baloch who spent a significant part of his life alongside Rahman Daku. Watching his friend’s story portrayed on the big screen clearly moved him.

Habib said that he chose not to comment in detail on the character itself but admitted that he found the film extremely impressive, so much so that he watched it twice. He expressed gratitude to Indian cinema, stating that Bollywood succeeded in doing what Pakistan could not.

He further remarked that Rahman Daku was not a villain in real life but a hero of Lyari. According to him, Pakistan remains indebted to Rahman Daku, adding that without figures like Rahman Daku and Uzair Baloch, Pakistan’s situation could have been similar to that of Bangladesh.

Through his statements, Habib Jan Baloch strongly praised Dhurandhar and acknowledged the film’s powerful storytelling.

Story Rooted in Karachi’s Lyari Gang Wars

Dhurandhar is set against the backdrop of the early 2000s and revolves around gang wars and political turbulence in Karachi’s Lyari Town. The film explores the complex realities of crime, power, and identity in the region, making it both intense and thought-provoking.

Dhurandhar Dominates the Box Office

The film’s success at the box office further highlights its massive appeal. Within just 24 days of release, Dhurandhar has become the highest-grossing Bollywood film in Indian cinema history. The movie has crossed a staggering ₹730 crore in net collections, making it the first Hindi film to surpass the ₹700 crore mark.

The unprecedented box office numbers, combined with international attention and praise from unexpected quarters, have firmly established Dhurandhar as one of the most impactful films in recent times.
