However, fans of the beloved Bollywood singer are in for an emotional shock, as Arijit Singh has officially announced his retirement from playback singing.

One of Bollywood’s most celebrated playback singers, Arijit Singh, has shared heartbreaking news with his fans. Known for delivering back-to-back chart-topping hits, the singer has decided to step away from his singing career.

Arijit Singh shared this major decision through social media. The statement released by the singer has left fans struggling to believe the words they are reading.

“I Will Not Take Any New Assignments Anymore,” Says Arijit Singh

In a statement posted on his official Instagram account, Arijit Singh wrote:

“Hello everyone, wishing you all a very Happy New Year. Thank you to all the listeners who have given me immense love over the years. I am happy to announce that I will no longer take any new assignments as a playback singer. I am ending this journey here. It has been a truly wonderful experience.”

Fans React Emotionally to Arijit Singh’s Announcement

Soon after the statement was posted, fans flooded social media with emotional reactions. Many found it hard to accept that Arijit Singh had taken such a big decision.

One user wrote, “This cannot be true. Bollywood songs without your voice are unimaginable.”
Another commented, “Please tell us this is just a prank and your account was hacked.”

A fan expressed, “We will miss your magical voice in Bollywood. Whatever the issue is, we hope it gets resolved soon.”
Another emotional post read, “First Zakir Khan, now Arijit Singh—what is happening?”

Artists Who Took a Break Before Arijit Singh

Before Arijit Singh’s announcement, singer Neha Kakkar had also informed fans that she was taking a temporary break from work and personal commitments, saying she was unsure when she would return. Similarly, comedian Zakir Khan had earlier announced a five-year break from comedy due to health reasons.

Arijit Singh’s Musical Journey

Arijit Singh recorded his first song in 2009 for the film Murder 2. His breakthrough came in 2011 with the song “Phir Mohabbat Karne Chala Hai Tu,” which became a massive hit and established him as a leading voice in Bollywood.

Despite his retirement announcement, Arijit Singh’s voice will still be heard in upcoming projects, including songs from Salman Khan’s film Battle of Galwan.
