Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor has made a major investment in Ayodhya’s rapidly growing real estate market by purchasing a premium land parcel worth approximately Rs 3.31 crore in the luxury “The Sarayu” project. The announcement was officially made by The House of Abhinandan Lodha on Thursday.
According to the company, the actor acquired a 2,134 square feet land parcel within The Sarayu, a 75-acre upscale plotted development located on the banks of the sacred Sarayu River in Ayodhya. The project is being promoted as a blend of luxury living, spirituality, and cultural heritage, attracting high-profile investors and celebrities from across the country.
Speaking about his investment, Ranbir Kapoor shared an emotional connection with the holy city. The actor said that he feels Ayodhya has “chosen” him and described the city as an important part of India’s cultural and historical identity. He further stated that the investment is intended to become a part of his family’s legacy in the future.
The growing popularity of Ayodhya as a real estate destination has gained momentum following the development boom around the Ram Mandir and the city’s transformation into a major spiritual tourism hub. Premium projects like The Sarayu are witnessing increased demand from investors seeking luxury properties in the temple town.
Ranbir Kapoor is not the only Bollywood celebrity investing in Ayodhya’s booming property market. Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan has also made multiple high-value investments in the city over the past few years. Reports suggest that Bachchan purchased a 25,000 square feet land parcel in Ayodhya in 2025 for nearly Rs 40 crore. Earlier, he had reportedly invested Rs 14.5 crore in The Sarayu project and acquired another large property registered under a trust named after his father, renowned poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan.
On the professional front, Ranbir Kapoor is preparing for one of the biggest roles of his career as he gears up to portray Lord Rama in Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari. The first installment of the highly anticipated epic is expected to release during Diwali 2026.
Apart from Ramayana, the actor will also appear in Love & War alongside Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal. The film is being directed by acclaimed filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
With celebrities increasingly investing in Ayodhya’s luxury real estate sector, the city is quickly emerging as one of India’s most talked-about spiritual and investment destinations.
