Hardik Pandya and Tilak Varma ensured India finished strongly. Pandya smashed an unbeaten 50 off 23 balls, while Tilak Varma remained not out on 44 off 16 balls, helping India post the mammoth 256/4.

Chasing 257, Zimbabwe openers Brian Bennett and Tadiwanashe Marumani added 44 runs in 38 balls. Vice-captain Axar Patel broke the partnership immediately after the powerplay, dismissing Marumani for 20.
