Free Online Maths and Science Education for Classes 9–12 in UP Through Khan Academy
Students of all secondary schools in Uttar Pradesh will now receive free online education in Mathematics and Science through Khan Academy. Under this initiative, students from Classes 9 to 12 will have access to high-quality digital learning content aligned with the NCERT curriculum.
Earlier, this facility was limited only to government secondary schools. However, the Uttar Pradesh government has now extended its benefits to aided and self-financed (private) secondary schools as well, ensuring wider access to quality education for students across the state.
Focus on Strong Conceptual Learning and STEM Education
This program is part of the STEM initiative (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) launched by the Secondary Education Department of Uttar Pradesh. Its main objective is to strengthen students’ conceptual understanding and make Mathematics and Science easier and more engaging.
In addition to helping students, the program also aims to support teachers by providing supplementary teaching materials, digital tools, and innovative teaching methods, making classroom learning more interactive and effective.
Free Hindi Content Based on NCERT Curriculum
The Khan Academy platform offers NCERT-based study material in Hindi, making learning more accessible to students from Hindi-medium backgrounds. Students can access:

- Practice exercises
- Self-assessment tools
- Quizzes
- Unit tests
All these learning resources are available completely free of cost.
Government Directives for Effective Implementation
Additional Chief Secretary for Basic and Secondary Education, Parth Sarathi Sen Sharma, has directed all Divisional Education Directors and District Inspectors of Schools to ensure the effective implementation of this program across the state.
With this initiative, students in Uttar Pradesh will benefit from modern digital education, improved subject understanding, and enhanced academic performance through online learning platforms.
