Ayodhya is rapidly emerging as a global cultural and economic hotspot, thanks to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s development-driven policies. The completion of the Shri Ram Temple and the recent flag-hoisting ceremony have not only elevated Ayodhya’s spiritual identity but also showcased its meteoric transformation on the world stage.

‘Ayodhya Brand’ Making Global Waves

Under CM Yogi Adityanath’s leadership, spiritual and cultural destinations are being developed as major economic centers. Ayodhya is setting a benchmark in this mission. Since the opening of the Ram Temple, tourism in the holy city has witnessed a massive surge—growing 4 to 5 times within months.

Between January and June 2025 alone, Ayodhya welcomed over 230 million (23 crore) visitors. By year-end, the number is expected to reach half a billion (50 crore) tourists, making it one of the world’s most visited spiritual destinations.

Ayodhya Equipped With World-Class Facilities

Tourists from the USA, Europe, Russia, and other countries are arriving in Ayodhya in record numbers. The city’s infrastructure reflects a world-class transformation—

  • spotless, modern roads
  • cultural art installations at every major junction
  • a stunning Ram Path and Dharma Path
  • restored ancient ponds
  • heritage temples
  • premium hospitality services
  • international-standard hotels

This growth has drastically boosted the hospitality sector. Hotels that once struggled for occupancy now operate at 90% capacity. Even small hotels are generating ₹40,000–₹50,000 per day, showcasing Ayodhya’s thriving local economy. CM Yogi has truly restored the city’s ancient grandeur.

Ayodhya’s Major Contribution to Uttar Pradesh’s GSDP

Ayodhya’s development journey began in 2020. Under the Chief Minister’s direction, government departments worked efficiently to deliver top-tier infrastructure.

Key upgrades include:

  • world-class roads and drainage systems
  • modernized traffic management
  • a premium railway station
  • upgraded bus stands
  • an international airport

As tourist footfall increased, so did economic activity. Today, Ayodhya contributes around 1.5% to Uttar Pradesh’s GSDP. Experts estimate that in the coming years, Ayodhya’s annual economic turnover could reach ₹4 lakh crore.

Ayodhya to Play a Key Role in the $1 Trillion UP Economy Goal

Ayodhya’s international airport is driving massive economic momentum, with daily flights increasing to 30. The airport can handle up to 600,000 passengers, offering seamless connectivity across India.

Similarly, the city’s railway station has been transformed to international standards, and modernized bus terminals have improved overall travel convenience.

Today, Ayodhya stands as Uttar Pradesh’s most developed spiritual city and one of India’s largest tourist hubs. As CM Yogi aims to make Uttar Pradesh a $1 trillion economy by 2029, Ayodhya is poised to become a major driver of this mission.
