In the Rudauli Circle of Ayodhya, the police have launched an artificial intelligence (AI)-based ‘Yaksha App’ to strengthen crime control. More than 200 police personnel are currently using this app. Through geo-tagging, facial recognition, and voice recognition, the app enables digital surveillance of criminals. With just one click, the app provides complete details such as a criminal’s name, address, criminal history, and current location, helping police track offenders even if they change their appearance and improve overall law and order.

To ensure strict control over crime and criminals, the police have introduced the AI-powered Yaksha App on the ground. Under this high-tech initiative, digital monitoring of criminals has begun in the Rudauli Circle area. One Circle Officer (CO), four Station House Officers (SHOs), seven Outpost In-Charges, Sub-Inspectors, and more than 200 police personnel have downloaded the Yaksha App on their mobile phones.

The responsibility for the effective implementation of the Yaksha App has been assigned to SHOs, Outpost In-Charges, and beat police officers. All officers are geo-tagging cities and villages falling under their respective beats. This will ensure accurate verification of criminals and real-time monitoring.

Complete Information Available in One Click

Through the app, police can access a criminal’s name, address, criminal record, gang connections, and current location with just one click. The biggest feature of the Yaksha App is its AI-based facial and voice recognition technology.

If a criminal is living under a fake name, has changed appearance, or shifted location, the police can upload a photo or voice sample to retrieve complete information instantly. If a criminal suddenly disappears from their registered residence or changes location, the concerned police station and beat officer will receive an immediate alert.

The app is creating digital profiles of criminals, including their photographs, voice samples, and location data. After any incident, based on the description given by the victim, police can upload a sketch or image to easily identify and trace the criminal.

In addition, the app also includes a ‘Crime-GPT’ feature, which allows officers to search complete criminal records based on the type of crime or the criminal’s name, making investigations faster and more efficient.
