UP Government to Recruit 36 Doctors to Strengthen Healthcare; Ayodhya to Get 11 New Physicians

The Uttar Pradesh government has announced a major step toward improving healthcare services across the state by approving the recruitment of 36 new doctors. Of these, 11 doctors will be appointed in Ayodhya, providing much-needed relief to local residents who have long faced a shortage of medical professionals.

Big Relief for Government Hospitals in the Region

Government hospitals across the Ayodhya division have been struggling with a lack of doctors for years. To address this issue, the state administration has decided to appoint 36 medical specialists across five districts of the division.

According to the plan:

  • Ayodhya will receive 11 doctors
  • Ambedkarnagar – 6 doctors
  • Amethi – 5 doctors
  • Barabanki – 7 doctors
  • Sultanpur – 7 doctors

The recruitment process has already been initiated at the government level, and applications are open until November 26. After interviews, the list of selected candidates will be sent to the Chief Medical Officers (CMOs) of the respective districts for posting.

Ayodhya’s Healthcare Network to Strengthen

Ayodhya currently has:

  • 5 government hospitals
  • 14 community health centers (CHCs)
  • 34 primary health centers (PHCs)

District Women’s Hospital and Shri Ram Hospital receive the highest number of patients daily. However, due to a shortage of sanctioned doctor posts, timely treatment has often been a challenge. Similar conditions prevail in other districts of the division, prompting the large-scale hiring initiative.

Recruitment to Fill Critical Gaps

Director-General of Health, Dr. Ratanpal Singh Suman, has issued an official letter to begin recruitment for MBBS specialist consultants, ensuring that doctors are deployed where shortages are most severe. The goal is to fill these positions quickly, improving patient care and reducing the burden on existing staff.

Official Statement

“Once the recruitment process is completed, selected doctors will be posted in hospitals where shortages are highest. This will help reduce pressure on existing staff and ensure better healthcare for patients,”
Dr. Sushil Kumar Baniyan, Chief Medical Officer
