To manage the massive influx of devotees in Ayodhya during the auspicious occasion of Mauni Amavasya under the ongoing Magh Mela, the Indian Railways operated four special Mela trains on Sunday to transport pilgrims to Prayagraj. The move helped prevent overcrowding in the holy city and ensured smooth travel arrangements for thousands of devotees.

According to railway officials, around 6,000 pilgrims traveled on the four Mela special trains, while an additional 18,000 devotees used 36 regular trains to reach their destinations. In total, nearly 24,000 passengers benefited from railway services in a single day.

Additional Railway Arrangements for Magh Mela

The Railways have made extensive arrangements for the Magh Mela period. Additional commercial staff have been deployed at railway stations to assist pilgrims by issuing tickets and providing essential travel-related information. Railway security agencies are also on high alert to ensure passenger safety.

Heavy Crowd Continues After Mauni Amavasya

Even after Mauni Amavasya, large crowds continued to pour into Ayodhya on Monday, making crowd management a challenge for the local police. Barricades were installed at several locations to regulate movement, causing inconvenience to local residents due to restrictions.

Traffic congestion was reported in multiple areas, with ambulances also getting stuck in traffic jams. To maintain law and order, authorities restricted unnecessary vehicular movement.

Tight Security Measures in Place

Ayodhya Circle Officer Ashutosh Tiwari conducted field inspections to review security arrangements. He instructed security personnel deployed at major temples and bathing ghats to remain alert and vigilant.

The Magh Mela festivities will continue until Basant Panchami on January 23, and authorities have assured that comprehensive security and crowd-control measures will remain in force during this period.
