The free admission process under the Right to Education (RTE) Act, 2009 has officially begun in Ayodhya for the 2026–27 academic session. The initiative aims to provide free education to children from economically weaker sections and disadvantaged groups.

On the very first day, Chief Development Officer Krishna Kumar Singh reviewed the admission process during a meeting held at the Development Bhawan auditorium. He set a target to receive five times more applications than last year, emphasizing wider outreach and awareness.

Online Applications in Three Phases

Admissions for pre-primary and Class 1 are being conducted entirely through an online application process, which will take place in three phases:

  • Phase 1: February 2 to February 16
  • Phase 2: February 21 to March 7
  • Phase 3: March 12 to March 25

Students will be admitted to 905 RTE-registered schools across Ayodhya.

6,832 Seats Available Under RTE Quota

The total admission capacity of these schools is 26,038 seats, out of which 25% (6,832 seats) have been reserved for children eligible under the RTE Act.

Help Desks for Parents Unable to Apply Online

To assist parents who are unable to apply online, the administration has directed the setup of RTE Help Desks at various locations. These help desks will guide parents through the registration and application process.

Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) Lalchand has appointed Block Education Officers as nodal officers to ensure smooth implementation and monitoring of the admission process.

The administration has assured transparency and timely support so that every eligible child can benefit from free and compulsory education under the RTE Act.
