Ayodhya Administration Prepares for Ramzan, Holi and Chaitra Ram Navami Fair; Control Room to Be Set Up

The Ayodhya administration has begun extensive preparations to maintain peace and law and order during the upcoming festivals of Ramzan, Holi, and the state-recognized Chaitra Ram Navami fair.

District Magistrate Nikhil T. Funde has directed officials to hold peace committee meetings to ensure the smooth and peaceful conduct of the festivals.


Key Festival Dates Announced

According to the lunar calendar, the holy month of Ramzan is likely to begin on February 18 or 19. Holika Dahan will be observed on March 2, followed by Holi on March 4. The Chaitra Ram Navami fair will be held from March 19 to March 27.

During Ramzan, daily religious activities include Sehri in the early morning, Taraweeh prayers in mosques in the evening, and Iftar gatherings at sunset. Five daily prayers are offered in mosques throughout the month. Eid-ul-Fitr is expected to be celebrated on March 20 or 21, depending on moon sighting.


Special Security Arrangements During Ramzan

During Ramzan, the Shia community takes out processions on the 19th, 20th, and 21st days of the month. The Sunni community offers Eid prayers at the Eidgah in Civil Lines, while the Shia community gathers at the Imamabara in Rath Haveli and the Ranopali Eidgah.

Eid prayers are conducted collectively at major Eidgahs and mosques across both urban and rural areas of the district.


Magistrates and Police Officials Directed to Coordinate

The District Magistrate has instructed the City Magistrate, Resident Magistrate, and all Sub-Divisional Magistrates to coordinate closely with respective police officials in their jurisdictions to ensure peace and security.

The Additional District Magistrate (City) will oversee arrangements across the entire urban area, while the Additional District Magistrate (Administration) will supervise rural regions in coordination with the Additional Superintendent of Police.

Peace committee meetings will be organized before the festivals to address any concerns.


Control Room to Operate from City Magistrate’s Office

A dedicated control room will be set up at the City Magistrate’s office to monitor arrangements during the festive period. Officials from the consolidation department will be assigned duty to manage operations.
