Director Vishal Bhardwaj’s latest film O’Romeo hit theatres on February 13 and has made a solid impact at the box office on its opening day. Starring Shahid Kapoor and Tripti Dimri in lead roles, the film has registered an impressive Day 1 collection, surpassing the opening numbers of Shahid’s previous release Deva.
The film generated strong buzz even before release, thanks to its engaging trailer and songs. Although advance bookings were below expectations, current trends suggest that O’Romeo is likely to perform well over the weekend.
The reunion of Vishal Bhardwaj and Shahid Kapoor has also added to the excitement. The duo previously collaborated on critically acclaimed films like Haider and Kaminey, making this project highly anticipated.
O’Romeo Box Office Collection Day 1
According to early estimates, O’Romeo has collected ₹6.95 crore on its first day. With night shows still contributing to the total, the film is expected to close Day 1 with earnings between ₹8–10 crore, which would be considered a strong opening.
The Valentine’s Week release may also give the film an additional boost at the box office.
O’Romeo Beats Shahid Kapoor’s Previous Film Deva
With its opening day performance, O’Romeo has already outperformed Shahid Kapoor’s last release Deva, which had collected ₹5.50 crore on Day 1.
Although the makers have not officially announced the film’s budget, reports suggest that O’Romeo has been made on an estimated budget of ₹125–150 crore. In that context, an opening of ₹8–10 crore is seen as a positive start.
