Lucknow Zone Additional Director General of Police (ADG) Praveen Kumar was felicitated at the Ram Janmabhoomi complex in Ayodhya following his recent promotion. The honour was jointly conferred by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust and security agencies working at the temple premises.
A formal ceremony was held at the auditorium of the Ram Janmabhoomi complex, where Trust General Secretary Champat Rai, Trust member Dr. Anil Kumar Mishra, SP Security Balramachari Dubey, L&T Project Director Vinod Kumar Mehta, and other officials honoured ADG Praveen Kumar by presenting him with a shawl, Ramnama, traditional stole, and an idol of Ram Lalla.
While presenting the idol, Champat Rai recalled Praveen Kumar’s long and dedicated tenure in Ayodhya and congratulated him on his new responsibility. He highlighted that during his tenure as Inspector General of Police (IG), Ayodhya, Praveen Kumar played a crucial role in ensuring smooth security arrangements during the historic Ram Temple Pran Pratishtha ceremony.
SP Security Balramachari Dubey also praised Praveen Kumar’s leadership, stating that under his guidance, police officials efficiently managed crowd control during the Prayagraj Kumbh Mela. He added that nearly four lakh devotees were able to have darshan of Ram Lalla daily, setting an example of effective and disciplined crowd management.

Several senior officials and personnel were present on the occasion, including Rajeev Dubey (Project Manager, Tata Consulting Engineers), Sunil Kumar (In-charge, Ram Janmabhoomi Police Outpost), Trust engineer Jagdish Aafle, Ramshankar Yadav ‘Tinnu’, Radio Branch In-charge Arjundeo, Constable Ajay Kumar, and others.
Separately, ADG Praveen Kumar was also honoured at the Udasin Ashram in Ranopali, where Mahant Dr. Bharat Das felicitated him with a shawl and praised his exemplary service during his tenure in the holy city of Ayodhya. SP Security Balramachari Dubey, Abhishek Das, and other dignitaries were also present at the event.
