A digital locker service has been launched at Ayodhya Dham railway station for the convenience of passengers. Now, travelers can securely store their luggage at the station. This facility is especially beneficial for those who wish to stay in Ayodhya for a short period. The station is also equipped with other amenities such as waiting rooms and food stalls for passengers’ comfort.
Keeping passenger convenience in mind, Ayodhya Dham Railway Station has launched a digital luggage locker service. The facility was inaugurated in the presence of Station Director Krishna Kant by a young girl passenger. Installed on Platform No. 1, the digital locker system allows travelers to safely store their belongings during their visit to Ayodhya.
The lockers are monitored 24×7 through CCTV cameras, ensuring a high level of security. The entire booking and operation process is fully digital and automated — the locker door opens and closes only through an OTP (One-Time Password) sent to the passenger’s mobile phone.
This modern facility is already available at other stations in the Lucknow Division, including Varanasi, Lucknow, Prayag Junction, and Prayagraj Sangam, and now Ayodhya Dham Station has joined the list.
Divisional Railway Manager Sunil Kumar Verma said that the introduction of this service is another major step toward enhancing passenger safety and convenience, while also promoting the vision of Digital India.
According to Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Kuldeep Tiwari, a total of 11 digital lockers have been installed, including large and extra-large boxes.
The booking process is simple and completely digital:
- Passengers enter their mobile number on the locker system’s touch screen.
- An OTP is sent to their mobile for verification.
- After entering the OTP, passengers can select an available locker.
- A QR code appears on the screen for payment.
- Payment can be made easily via UPI or other digital modes.
This contactless, safe, and hygienic luggage storage system offers travelers a seamless experience. The railway administration aims to make stations more modern, secure, and passenger-friendly, ensuring that visitors to Ayodhya enjoy convenience along with devotion.
