Akhilesh Yadav Alleges BJP Is Targeting Opponents in Prayagraj, Says Swami Avimukteshwaranand and Arvind Kejriwal Got Justice

Akhilesh-Yadav

Samajwadi Party (SP) national president Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of using every possible tactic to implicate political opponents. Speaking to reporters in Prayagraj, he claimed that attempts were made to falsely implicate Swami Avimukteshwaranand, but he ultimately received justice. Yadav also mentioned that former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal received justice and had always expressed faith in the judiciary.

Akhilesh Yadav was in Prayagraj to attend a Roza Iftar event organized by former minister Salim Sherwani at Sherwani Industrial Syndicate Limited near Kanpur Road.

SP-PDA Government Will Be Formed in 2027, Claims Akhilesh

Highlighting social harmony, Yadav said, “We embrace each other during festivals — that is our Hindustani culture.” He asserted that in the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, an SP-PDA (Pichhda, Dalit, Alpsankhyak) government will be formed in the state.

He said the PDA alliance stands with the oppressed, distressed, and insulted sections of society and enjoys support from all communities. Yadav also promised that once the SP forms the government, each district in Uttar Pradesh will have its own development manifesto.

Allegations Over Development Funds in Prayagraj

Targeting the BJP government, Yadav alleged that ₹60,000 crore had been spent on the development of Prayagraj over the past ten years, yet key issues remain unresolved. He claimed that the Ganga river is still not clean, untreated sewage continues to flow into the Yamuna, traffic congestion is a major issue, and affordable healthcare facilities are lacking.

He promised comprehensive development across the state if the Samajwadi Party returns to power.

Remarks on BJP Leadership and Internal Conflicts

Yadav also took a dig at the BJP, saying that while the party uses the name and image of socialist thinker Jayaprakash Narayan (JP) to appear aligned with socialist values, it does not truly follow those principles.

In a sarcastic remark, he said that people usually travel abroad after a farewell, but in this case, some leaders have gone abroad even before their “farewell.” He further alleged internal conflict within the BJP, claiming that the Deputy Chief Minister is trying to remove the Chief Minister. “Earlier the engines were colliding; now even the coaches are colliding,” he quipped.

Support for Swami Avimukteshwaranand

Addressing reports of dissatisfaction among Brahmin MLAs, Yadav said that everyone should stand with Swami Avimukteshwaranand to ensure he receives due respect. He claimed that the way the seer was treated left him feeling hurt, distressed, and insulted.

The remarks come amid rising political tensions in Uttar Pradesh ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections, with opposition parties intensifying their criticism of the BJP government.
