The blast in Delhi has had a widespread impact on Ayodhya, the holy city of Lord Ram. Since Monday evening, security agencies have stepped up surveillance, tightening security across the Ram Janmabhoomi complex, the urban area, and even at the district borders. While public movement continues smoothly, intensive vehicle checks are being conducted at all entry and exit points.
With Prime Minister Narendra Modi scheduled to visit Ayodhya on November 25 for the Ram Temple flag-hoisting ceremony, the Delhi incident has prompted authorities to heighten vigilance. Following reports of the blast, District Magistrate Nikhil Tikaram Funde and SSP Dr. Gaurav Grover personally inspected security arrangements in Ayodhya Dham.
Throughout the evening, UP-112 patrol vehicles sounded their sirens while conducting continuous patrols. Both senior officers remained on inspection rounds till late night, reviewing security inside the Ram Janmabhoomi complex and instructing personnel to maintain high alert.
Meanwhile, Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) carried out joint search operations. Random checks were conducted multiple times at Ayodhya Dham and Cantonment stations, covering platforms, tracks, and trains. The same level of alertness continued into Tuesday morning, with extended checks at bus stations, public areas, and crowded zones using bomb disposal squads. Parking lots near railway stations were also inspected, with officers verifying vehicle details.
The RPF has instructed parking contractors to immediately report any vehicle left unattended for a long period. Additional police presence has been deployed at all five entry gates of the district court premises, where both advocates and visitors are being screened before entry. Lawyers have been seen cooperating with security personnel to maintain smooth checks.
Weak Surveillance at the Bus Depot
At the Ayodhya Roadways Depot in Civil Lines, security remains a weak point — CCTV cameras installed there are non-functional, having been damaged by monkeys, according to Regional Manager Vimal Rajan. He confirmed that no surveillance cameras are currently operational, and police occasionally patrol the depot manually. Since the high alert, police teams have maintained a strong presence in and around the bus terminal.
At the Ayodhya Cantonment Railway Station, bag scanners and CCTV systems are functional inside the premises, but the parking area outside lacks proper surveillance. After dark, the parking lot is plunged into darkness as there is no lighting or active CCTV coverage.
Railway security officials, however, claimed that existing cameras inside the station building capture part of the parking area, and random inspections are conducted to ensure no suspicious activity goes unnoticed.
With just days left for the historic Ram Temple flag-hoisting ceremony, security forces in Ayodhya are operating in high-alert mode to ensure the safety of devotees and dignitaries arriving in the temple town.
